NUNNELLY, Tenn. – An investigation was launched in Hickman County after an elderly man was killed in a camper fire over the weekend.
The incident happened Sunday morning at Hidden Valley Lake in Nunnelly.
Officials with the Hickman County Sheriff’s office said a family member was able to pull the victim from the burning camper. First responders arrived and performed CPR.
The victim was taken to the Hickman Community ER where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not known.
At this point, it does not appear that foul play was involved.
Investigators were working to determine the cause of the blaze. They said this was the sixth fire death in recent years in Hickman County, and stressed the importance of smoke detectors.
