State Sen. Mark Green wins bid to replace Blackburn in US House

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) - Republican State Sen. Mark Green has won Tennessee’s 7th congressional district to replace Marsha Blackburn.

Blackburn stepped away from her House seat to run for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Bob Corker. 

Green, of Ashland City, withdrew as President Donald Trump's nominee for Army secretary earlier this year amid criticism of his comments about gay and transgender people. He called the attacks "false and misleading."

Green ran unopposed in the Republican primary.
