HARTSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A teacher at Trousdale County Elementary School has been arrested on charges of abusing a child.

According to the Trousdale County Director of Schools Clint Satterfield, the incident occurred on Friday when a Student Resource Officer saw the incident occur on a camera and reported it to the assistant principal.

On the video, the SRO observed the teacher, Carla Haynes, grab a student by the ankles and drag the student back into the classroom.

Once alerted of the incident, the assistant principal reported it to the superintendent and Haynes was suspended the same day.

Haynes is a Pre-K teacher at TCES and is suspended indefinitely pending the results of the investigation.

Haynes has since bonded out of the Trousdale County detention Center where she was booked on a child abuse charge after the parent of the involved child took out a warrant.
