The number of people with asthma continues to grow. According to the CDC, about one in ten kids suffer from asthma or asthma attacks. And helping children take their medicine can be very challenging.

Now Johnathan Harrison, an EMS professional turned entrepreneur, says he's created a nebulizer specifically for kids.

He calls them Loli-O's. They look like typical lollipops. But just by keeping the the candy near the face, kids are actually getting a breathing treatment.

Harrison says he came up with idea in the back of an ambulance.

"I was transporting a 4-year-old. It was a transport of over an hour long. The mask delivery system, she wasn't having it, "he said.

Usually, a child has to sit with a nebulizer covering their face. Harrison says can be very difficult to get a frightened child to put on a large mask and keep it there. Getting a kid to eat candy, that is easy.

"[Loli-O's] are sugar free, gluten free, dairy free, no additives, no dyes, they are all manufactured in a peanut-free facility," he said.

The product is not a replacement for traditional methods. If a child is suffering from severe breathing problems, you are not going to go this route.

But if it's a case of mild asthma, bronchitis, or allergies, Harrison says Loli-O's puts the treat in treatment.

Harrison says the product is about 30-days from being available online.
