Endangered Child Alert canceled after Jackson County teen found safe

GAINESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has canceled an Endangered Child Alert for a missing 17-year-old from Jackson County after she was found safe.

The TBI tweeted that Amber Gilly Smith went missing on Jan. 28. She had last been seen at her home in Dodson Branch on Monday. She was believed to be without her medication.

She had last been seen wearing a white sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers. Smith is 5’4” tall, weighs 160 pounds and has blonde hair and green eyes.

TBI officials said on Friday, she was found safe in Cookeville.
