Authorities in Putnam County captured an escaped inmate after he walked away from a jail work crew early Wednesday morning.
Officers said George Elmore escaped from a work crew in Cookeville. The crew was working in the area of Jackson Street and Willow Avenue.
Elmore was wearing regular street clothes at the time. He is described as a white male, with a short stature. He has blonde hair and blue eyes.
