8:30pm Officials announce evening update
Authorities say 18 people remain unaccounted for following the deadly explosion at Accurate Energetic Systems in Hickman County. One person who was initially believed to be on site was later found safe at home.
More than 300 emergency personnel responded to the scene throughout the day, and recovery efforts are expected to continue through the weekend. Investigators are still working to confirm who was at the facility at the time of the explosion, and family notifications remain ongoing.
The ATF’s National Response Team is expected to arrive Saturday to assist state and local officials in processing what authorities described as a complex scene.
Residents who find debris believed to be from the explosion are urged to contact their local sheriff’s office so trained personnel can respond safely.
Officials say their focus tonight remains on supporting the families and loved ones of those affected by the tragedy.

At least 19 people are unaccounted for following an explosion at a Tennessee explosives manufacturer on Friday, according to officials from Humphrey's County.

Around 7:45am Friday morning
The explosion took place just before 8 a.m. at Accurate Energetic Systems in the Bucksnort area along the Hickman County/Humphreys County line.
Home footage from a NewsChannel 5 viewer about two miles away captures the moment the explosives plant exploded.
AES specializes in the development, manufacture, handling, and storage of products and explosives for military, aerospace, and commercial demolition markets.
Emergency services are currently on the scene working to address the situation. ATF and TBI are also on scene.

TEMA says they are currently supporting local officials in Hickman and Humphreys counties with the response and have deployed District Coordinators to support local response efforts.
