The leader of the Fairgrounds Nashville for the past eight years, has announced his retirement.
Buck Dozier said he would retire in March. The former Metro Councilman-at-Large and Nashville Fire Chief started working as the fairgounds executive director in 2008.
The 71-year-old has been planning his retirement since last year. The Fair Board is looking for his replacement.
The Fairgrounds Nashville has been at the center of controversy in the past few weeks after the board's vote to halt gun shows at the venue.
The Tennessee State Fair, expo events and auto races are conducted each year at The Fairgrounds Nashville each year.
