FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Members of all faiths came together to pray for Charleston and the victims of the Emmanuel AME Church shooting Thursday night.
Shorter Chapel AME Church in Franklin was one of several churches that held a special prayer service in the wake of the tragedy.
The AME denomination has been very tight knit, so many knew the victims in Charleston.
Thursday, they came together looking for comfort, including the pastor.
"It makes a big difference when all sectors of our community can come together as one at times such as this," said Rev. Dr. Kenneth Hill.
In addition to several pastors from around the area, the mayor and police chief of Franklin attended the prayer service at Shorter Chapel AME.
