MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A family in Rutherford County has been displaced after a fire broke out inside their garage.

Officials with the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department said they responded to the scene of a fire at a house on Hawkridge Drive just after midnight, Friday.

When crews arrived on scene, they discovered heavy smoke. The fire was later discovered in the garage.

No one was injured as a result of the fire.

"Crews contained the fire damage to the garage, but there was heavy smoke throughout the house," said Shift Commander Tim Swann.

Swann added that a Harley Davidson motorcycle housed in the garage also received fire damage.

The American Red Cross offered to assist the family but they declined.
