Carly Hassett, 29, died last week at a hospital following an argument and shooting with her boyfriend.
Hassett has been cremated according to family friends and funeral services will take place back home in Minnesota next week.
After the shooting, Rutherford County Sheriff deputies said Hassett and her boyfriend had domestic issues for years before the shooting.
Those close to Carly said she had been looking for a home of her own to leave her boyfriend.
"The girl lit up a room when she walked into it. It doesn't matter how hard life got, she always saw the positive side of things and it just seems like it always happens to the most beautiful people. They're taken away from this word," Aimee Ferrell said.
Terry Ferrell, friend to Hassett's father, told NewsChannel 5 Hassett was also trying get a cleaning business of her own started.
Officials have charged 32-year-old Jared Partin with first-degree murder. He faces a judge on March 23rd. He's being held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center without bond.
