Officials with the Federal Bureau of Investigation have asked for the public’s help identifying a man who may have critical information in an ongoing case of sexual exploitation involving a child.
A video, according to the FBI, showed the man, possibly 30 to 40 years old, with a child. The video was first noted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in October 2017, so it’s believed it was made before that date. Details of what the video involved were not released.
The man is described as being heavyset with curly dark hair. He’s also heard speaking English in the video with an American dialect..
The FBI released the pictures nationwide to help narrow down the search.
"Often they are put out and they're shared and they're shared in a great volume, these types of videos," said Matt Espenshade, Assistant Special Agent In Charge, FBI Nashville. "We have no idea what their origination is, and once we can find the origin, maybe even narrow it down to the location then more and more clues become available to us."
Anyone with information about his identity has been urged to call the FBI’s toll-free tip line at 1-800-225-5324.
No charges have been filed, and FBI agents said the man in the photo is considered innocent until proven guilty.
