NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Fido, the Hillsboro Village restaurant forced to close for days because of a building collapse, has reopened.

The building collapsed back on June 12 at the corner of 21st Street and Belcourt Avenue, where construction was ongoing on the parking lot next door. It once housed the popular restaurant, Jackson's Bar & Bistro.

For a neighborhood that's seen a lot of change in recent years, it's frustrating for longtime business owners like, Fido's owner Bob Bernstein.

He told NewsChannel 5 that it was symbolic that an out of town chain restaurant will not only be a competitor, but is also causing damage before they're even here.

Ruby Sunshine, the restaurant that will be leasing the new building, said they are saddened by what happened, but said they do not own the building and are not overseeing the construction.
