PLEASANT VIEW, Tenn. (WTVF) — A distillery in Pleasant View was damaged in a fire early Tuesday morning.
Pleasant View firefighters responded to the Leatherwood Distillery just before 6 a.m. Once there, they found flames coming from one of the large bay doors on the front side. And heavy smoke was pouring from all sides of the facility.
Firefighters quickly got inside and began knocking down the fire, and officials aid it was quickly brought under control.
They say the fire damage was limited to the center part of the building. However, there was smoke damage throughout the building.
The Pleasant View Fire department took to social media to express their concern for the business owner.
"We also want to offer our sympathy and help to the business owners. They are a staple in our city and have even stepped up and started producing hand sanitizer during our country’s tough time with COVID-19. We hope you can get back in business soon and if we can help in any way please let us know. I am also sure our community will step up and help out in any way possible."
