A garage went up in flames, but firefighters were able to save the house from substantial damage.
The fire happened shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday on Constitution Avenue in La Vergne.
According to the fire chief, the garage was a total loss.
The cause of the fire was not known, but foul play was not suspected.
