Firefighter burned while battling Nashville house fire

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Nashville firefighter suffered second-degree burns while battling an overnight house fire.

The call came in around 2 a.m. Friday at a home on Glencliff Road. Nashville fire officials said the homeowner awoke to a popping sound and got out before crews arrived.

Firefighters contained most of the blaze to the right side and back deck. One firefighter suffered second-degree burns on the forearm.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
