Nashville has dozens of new firefighters and EMTs after two battalion graduations were held.

Battalion 76 completed 13 weeks of fire suppression training over the summer.

Battalion 77 finished up 26 weeks of training Friday morning, equaling about 1,000 hours of training to become both certified EMTs and firefighters.

Mayor Megan Barry administered the oath to the recruits at the graduation on Friday.

Now that they’re graduates, the men and women will join their fellow firefighters and EMS crews in companies across Davidson County.
