CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A sixth arrest has been made in connection to the July homicide of 32-year-old Joshua Ellis on Givens Lane and the attempted murder of a 29-year-old in Summit Heights
On July 21, Clarksville officers responded to a shooting already occurred on Givens Lane at 9 p.m. When the officers arrived, they found Ellis lying on the ground shot. He was Lifeflighted to a Nashville hospital, where he died the next morning.
On the same evening, at around 9:15, a 29-year-old man was shot multiple times in the area of Summit Heights, near Givens Lane. He was also taken to a Nashville hospital via Lifeflight. He recovered from his injuries and was discharged from the hospital.
Police say the investigation into these shootings has suggested the involvement of several suspects. Six men have been arrested, with additional arrests pending.
The five who have been charged are Lewis Timmons, 19; Kaleb Wilson, 25; Kamren Bennett, 21; Dorris Acree, 21; Anthony Spencer, 25 and Jaquan Dawes, 20.
Between the five of them, their charges include first degree murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, weapon possession in commission of a felony, evading arrest, drugs for manufacture or sale, simple possession, unlawful drug paraphernalia and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
