CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - A van crashed into a building in Clarksville Wednesday afternoon injuring five family members.

The crash happened just before 1 p.m. on College Street.

Clarksville police say the van left the roadway and came to a rest halfway inside the cinderblock building.

Six people, all family members, were inside of the van. Five of them were injured but are expected to be OK. The father, who was driving, was not hurt.

Police say four teenage sisters were in the back of the van and suffered several cuts and even possible broken bones. Their mother was also injured.

It’s believed the brakes went out on the van although police are still investigating.

The building suffered damage but Clarksville Building and Codes officials say it remains structurally sound.

No charges have been filed.
