PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – A Florida man was arrested after he allegedly texted a police captain for drugs by mistake.

CBS News reports that 29-year-old William Lamberson apparently sent text messages to the head of the Martin County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit. The alleged exchange happened on the night of August 24.

The police captain responded to the text, “hey bro [sic],” with the question, “who is this?”

From there, the conversation escalated with Lamberson allegedly texting,  "Wanna smoke so bad u have any green [sic]."

The captain continued to play along until Lamberson reportedly offered to sell him cocaine, CBS News said.

At that point, they met at a pool hall, where the suspect was greeted by the captain – who then arrested him.

Lamberson was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell.
