Flood advisory issued for Cumberland River near Hermitage

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A flood advisory has been issued for the Cumberland River near Hermitage.

The National Weather Service in Nashville issued the advisory Tuesday morning after storms moved through on New Year’s Eve, bringing heavy rains and prompting several warnings across the area.

The advisory is set to expire at 7:41 p.m. Tuesday.

As of 9 a.m. the stage was at 30.2 feet – flood stage is at 34.0 feet. Water levels are expected to recede quickly by Wednesday morning.

Highs today will only hit the upper 40s to low 50s across the Mid-State. On and off rain chances return Wednesday through Friday.
