Despite flash flooding near the school on their last day, Station Camp High School graduation went on as normal.

Some students at SCHS were forced to move their cars Friday morning as the water slowly rose towards the school building. A nearby bridge was blocked, making the commute difficult for students and teachers.

"Lower Station Camp Creek was receiving all of the flooding from the upper part of the county and when it went down," said Sumner County Schools spokesperson Jeremy Johnson. "It flooded the athletic fields and the ROTC course at station camp high school."

As water rushed from Station Camp Creek, debris could be seen floating across school grounds. Video from Sky5 shows water partially surround the school grounds.

"My teacher took us outside to the parking lot and we started walking down towards the baseball field and the water had risen all the way up to the field and all the way to the parking lots," said Freshmen Lauren Carpenter.

One students said she saw a log get stuck on the bridge.

Graduation at Long Hollow Baptist Church was unaffected by the flooding. Johnson said most seniors weren't even at school Friday.

Johnson said teachers were also blocked from reaching Westmoreland High School.
