Former band director charged with rape of student

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WTVF) — A former high school band director is facing rape and sodomy charges after an incident involving a student.

According to court documents, Jordan Peveler gave marijuana to an underage girl at his home in 2017 and performed sexual acts with the girl on multiple occasions while he was the band director at Hopkinsville High School.

Peveler was arrested Wednesday.

He has been booked in the Christian County Jail. He was also charged unlawful transaction with a minor.

Christian County Schools stated Wednesday he is no longer employed with the school district.

According to his biography page on the Hopkinsville High School website, Peveler was named band director in 2014.
