NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Fort Campbell and the 101st Airborne Division kicks off the Week of the Eagles Friday.

The week-long event aims to honor military survivors and get people involved in events on post.

A welcome center will be open daily at the newly-renovated Don F. Pratt Memorial Museum.

The event kicks off Friday morning with a Boots on the Ground display outside of the 101st Airborne Division headquarters. Organizers said 7,000 boots will be lining the lawn in memory of fallen services who died from September 11, 2001 to present day.

The event continues on Saturday with a Run for the Fallen. That run starts at Town Center Park at 7:30a.m.

There are several events that make up the week, including a marksmanship competition and even a culinary competition that pits some of Fort Campbell's best cooks against each other.
