CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A soldier from Fort Knox has been identified as the person who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Montgomery County overnight.
Officials with the Clarksville Police Department said 25-year-old Kenneth Ronald Berry, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, died after being hit by a vehicle shortly after midnight Wednesday.
The incident happened on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and Terminal Road in Clarksville.
Police said Berry walked onto Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and was struck by a Nissan Pathfinder. They said the driver was unable to avoid hitting him.
He was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
Berry was a soldier from Fort Knox and was at Fort Campbell temporarily for training.
