MT. JULIET, Tenn. – Four people were arrested over the weekend for shoplifting from several stores in Wilson County.
Tashara Anderson and Donte Fentress, both 20 years old, were arrested along with a male and female juvenile Sunday.
Officers were called to the Providence Marketplace, where loss prevention officers caught the four people working together to conceal items in bags while in fitting rooms.
When police got to the store, the group quickly left the store and took off in a Nissan Altima.
They chased the car onto Mt. Juliet Road. Traffic at the I-40 overpass blocked them from continuing any further, and officers made the arrest.
They found about $440 of stolen items from Belk, and further investigation revealed an additional $400.00 in merchandise in the car that was potentially stolen from Ross, Rue 21, and Old Navy. However, the items had not yet been reported stolen.
Anderson and Fentress were both arrested and charged with Theft of Merchandise, Possession of Tools to Interfere with an Anti-theft device, and two counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
The 17-year-old male was charged with Theft of Merchandise, Evading Arrest, and Reckless Endangerment. The 17-year-old female was charged with Theft of Merchandise.
