Four Shot In Jackson Motel Parking Lot After Birthday Party

JACKSON, Tenn. – Four people were shot Sunday in a hotel parking lot in Madison County.

Officials with the Jackson Police Department said a shooting broke out around 2 a.m. at the Roadway Inn on the U.S. 45 Bypass in Jackson.

Police said a woman was having a birthday at the hotel and a fight broke out as guests were leaving. They said shots were fired by at least two people.

A 23-year-old Jackson man was taken to an area hospital where he was said to be in critical condition. Two other victims, ages 24 and 21, were transported to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

Both were said to be in critical condition.

Another man was treated and released from Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

None of the victims' identities have been released.

Police said a 25-year-old Oakfield man was taken into custody at the scene.
