NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police arrested four teens after they were spotted by a concerned neighbor trying to steal a vehicle in Nashville.
Officers were near the Tony Sudekum Apartments when someone reported seeing the teens get out of a Jeep and start pulling on the door handles of other cars.
Police say the jeep had been stolen Monday from a parking garage on 17thAvenue South.
Minutes later, 14-year-old, matching a description given by the concerned neighbor, was spotted walking down Lafayette Street. Police say he had the jeep keys and a loaded, stolen gun on him.
Officials said the investigation led them to Trimble Street where a strong smell of marijuana was coming from a residence. That's where three other teens (a 19-year-old, a 14-year-old, and a 13-year-old) were found with two guns, marijuana blunts and a digital scale.
The second 14-year-old was charged at juvenile detention with 2nd offense unlawful gun possession, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 13-year-old was charged with unlawful gun possession. The 19-year-old, Yolando Odom, was charged by citations with unlawful gun possession, marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contributing to the delinquency of minors.
