FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two people, including a 17-year-old, have been arrested after police say an armed teenager crashed a stolen car in Franklin. A third suspect remains at large in the case.

The ordeal began Monday morning when Franklin police tried to pull over a suspicious vehicle on Downs Boulevard.

Police said one person in the car pointed a gun at officers before the driver crashed into a field near New Hope Academy. All three fled the scene on foot.

Two were later taken into custody but a third suspect remains at large. Police said the vehicle had been stolen out of Nashville.

Residents should not leave vehicles running, unlocked or unattended. The remaining suspect is believed to be armed.

Police said as a precaution, they’ll remain at and around New Hope Academy.

Authorities identified the suspects as a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old female, both from Nashville.
