The Franklin Police Department increased patrols in response to threats regarding several historical landmarks were posted on social media.
A strike force group on Facebook specifically mentioned the confederate soldier statue, the Carter House and the Carnton Plantation.
Several people gathered at the statue in downtown Franklin, calling themselves monument guards.
Police said there were no disturbances.
