A 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Soldier was killed during a live-fire training exercise at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
Officials at Fort Campbell, Kentucky said Soldiers and Department of Emergency personnel responded Tuesday immediately after the incident.
The Soldier was transported to Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital on Fort Polk where he later died from his injuries.
The incident was placed under investigation, and the name of the Soldier was being while the next of kin was notified.
