Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department arrested a fugitive in connection to a Bellevue fatal shooting.

Joseph Ware, 34, was arrested late Tuesday afternoon by Special Response Team officers and West Precinct undercover detectives.

Ware was wanted in connection to the July 23 fatal shooting of 29-year-old Billy Ray Plunk in the parking lot of Plunk’s Bellevue apartment complex.

Ware was a passenger in a vehicle when he was arrested without incident in the parking lot of the Grand Slam Market at 500 East Old Hickory Boulevard in Madison.

He was charged with first degree murder. The second suspect, 29-year-old Jamal Bekhtyar was also charged with first degree murder last Friday and remained jailed in lieu of $750,000 bond.
