NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The funeral for Country Music Hall of Famer Mel Tillis was held Monday in Clarksville.
Tillis died in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 19 from suspected respiratory failure. He was 85.
Tillis had a lengthy struggle to regain his health and battled intestinal issues since early 2016.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home in Clarksville. Tillis' public funeral service followed at 3 p.m. at Mount Hermon Baptist Church.
Tillis' family has also been planning a public memorial service which will be open to fans and the music industry in January.
