The funeral for a 23-year-old nurse who was fatally stabbed at her Nashville apartment has been scheduled for this weekend.
Friday marked 72 hours since Tiffany Ferguson was stabbed inside her Wedgewood residence.
Metro Nashville Police officers have saturated the area with patrols, searching for anyone who might match the suspect description or mimic his distinctive walk.
Surveillance video was captured from outside the apartments just moments before the murder.
It shows a man checking for unlocked cars and then unlocked apartments – that's when he allegedly found Ferguson and her roommate's door unlocked.
Moments later, there was an encounter between Ferguson and the unidentified man. She was stabbed multiple times in her apartment and died at an area hospital.
Ferguson was herself a registered nurse at St. Thomas West Hospital.
"I'm still sick to my stomach about it," said Jonathan Emling, who worked with Ferguson in the St. Thomas West ICU. "It doesn't feel like this could happen, not to someone like her."
