A standoff situation in Gallatin has come to an end after a woman barricaded herself inside a home.
The incident was reported Wednesday morning at a home on Chambers Street in Gallatin.
Gallatin police said the woman, later identified as Kim Leftwich, barricaded herself inside the home with a weapon after officers tried to serve a misdemeanor warrant for a charge of vandalism under $500. Officials had originally responded to the vandalism call Tuesday night on Pace Street.
She reportedly threatened to harm herself and was said to be armed. A relative said she may have been under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities said they communicated with her for several hours by phone before the conversation went silent. Following 15 minutes of silence, officials made their way into the home where they found Leftwich and took her into custody.
Leftwich was taken to Sumner Regional Medical Center to be evaluated.
Authorities said the investigation remain ongoing.
