NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Although it’s only July, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville.
Hotel officials announced Wednesday that preparations have begun to get ready for the 32nd annual “A Country Christmas," which draws 1 million annual holiday visitors to the hotel.
Some 2.3 million holiday lights will be used this year for the event, which opens on November 20 and runs through January 2, 2016.
More than 2 million pounds of ice blocks have been ordered for the resort’s popular ICE! attraction, which is back with a new theme this year.
“When it comes to the best in holiday entertainment, we’re always finding ways to top ourselves, and this year is no exception with the new elements we’re introducing,” said Gaylord Opryland General Manager Pete Weien.
Opryland has added several entertainment events this year. Grand Ole Opry members Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers will have brand new dinner show at the resort.
