FRANKFORT, Ky. — Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Kentucky have risen to 47 and Governor Andy Beshear confirmed that a second person died as a result of the disease.
Test results just came back on a 64-year-old man in Louisville who died on March 13. According to LEX18 the man suffered from underlying health conditions.
A six-year-old has also been confirmed to have the new coronavirus. To comfort parents, Beshear reminded listeners that children are particularly resilient when it comes to COVID-19.
Due to an increase in testing facilities and labs, the concrete number of cases will change throughout the day, said Beshear.
The governor continued to drive home the importance of social distancing to protect vulnerable citizens. He also took the opportunities to quash rumors of the National Guard shutting down the state.
