FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVF) — Governor Andy Beshear is giving updates to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in Kentucky.
Kentucky's number of confirmed cases has risen to 591 and the virus has taken the lives of 18 people.
On Tuesday, the state saw an increas of six deaths within one day. The governor said all of them had underlying issues.
Beshear announced his signing of an executive order that allows departments to hire any police, fire or EMS workers who have retired without penalty to the departments.
The governor issued an executive order on Monday, prohibiting residents from traveling out of state in order to slow the spread of the virus.
