NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Governor Bill Haslam's hiatus is over. After making just one public appearance in three weeks, the Republican governor has eight public events scheduled this week.
Other than his role in the state Republican Party's annual fundraiser in Nashville on May 30, Haslam's public schedule had been clear since May 15.
The governor kicks off this week's tour at a Tennessee Municipal League event in Nashville on Tuesday, followed by two grant announcements in Clarksville later in the day.
On Wednesday, Haslam kicks off the 36/86 tech conference in Nashville and then heads to a grant higher education announcement across town.
Haslam heads to Chattanooga on Thursday to speak to the Rotary Club, make a grant announcement and attend a benefit for the Children's Nutrition Program of Haiti.
