There could be a vote on the Governor's gas tax proposal as soon as Wednesday.
The gas tax increase would pay for road improvements across the state, while cutting sales taxes on groceries.
But there are some alternatives to the plan.
Still, groups both for and against the proposal are now speaking out ahead of the vote.
Different proposals have been supported by people like House Speaker Beth Harwell and Rep. David Hawk, among others, there could see elements of those introduced as amendments right up until a final vote this week.
