Grand Ole Opry celebrating 95 years with month-long festivities

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Grand Ole Opry has announced the lineup for its 95th-anniversary celebration this October.

On October 3, the historic stage will kick off festivities by hosting its first show in front of a live audience in 29 weeks. Dierks Bentley, Terri Clark, Vince Gill and Lorrie Morgan will step in the circle for the 4,944th consecutive Saturday night broadcast in front of a socially-distanced audience of 500 people. The Grand Ole Opry said tickets for the show have already sold out.

Celebrations will include livestreams, sweepstakes, special retail packages and performances throughout the month.

Tickets for four additional shows will go on sale Friday, October 2 at 10 a.m. The lineup for those shows are below:

  • October 10: "Opry Firsts" - Celebrating Opry debuts and other firsts on the stage with Carly Pearce, Jeannie Seely and Josh Turner
  • October 17: "95 Years of Great Opry Songs" - Celebrating top songs and those who wrote them with Bill Anderson, Brandy Clark and Chris Janson
  • October 24: "Opry Goes Pink" - The Opry's 12-annual show benefiting the fight against breast cancer with Lauren Alaina, Little Big Town and Victoria Shaw
  • October 31: Clint Black and Steve Wariner will perform

Every Wednesday in October, the Opry will host a weekly Facebook Live series called "Inside the Circle" celebrating key tenants of the Opry's 95 years. Guests will include Craig Morgan, Jeannie Seely, Lorrie Morgan, Josh Turner, Steve Wariner, Bill Anderson and Mark Wills.
