Mayor Megan Barry and Officials with the Metro Development and Housing Agency announced that the MDHA was awarded at $2.7 million grant to launch a new program.
The money will go toward a “Jobs Plus” program in the Napier Place and Sudekum Apartments neighborhood.
Mayor Barry said the grant will help public housing residents find higher paying jobs and ultimately help them become self-sufficient.
The grant was one of nine awards being announced today across the country.
