Greater Nashville 'Race For The Cure' raises thousands

The Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure" raised thousands of dollars for breast cancer screening, treatment programs and education in Greater Nashville.

There were 5,000 people registered for the walk in Brentwood.

As of Saturday morning, $272,730 dollars had been donated.

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.

The event, held at Maryland Farms, included a survivor parade, 5K run and one mile walk. The event is 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Susan G. Komen Central Tennessee takes donations all year.
