A police chase in Cookeville led to the suspect nearly hitting a group of people including a pregnant woman.
Cookeville Police said the driver Robert McKay and Jace Passons sped off after a routine traffic stop.
McKay allegedly drove through five stop signs, ran several cars off the road, then jumped a curb.
The curb caused the car to slide down an embankment coming to a rest just feet from four people one of whom was pregnant.
That’s when the pair was finally taken into custody. McKay apparently sped off because he was driving on a revoked license.
Passons was wanted by deputies for assaulting his pregnant wife, and causing her to go into labor.
