A man was booked into the Davidson County Jail late Tuesday, charged with attempted criminal homicide. Officers said he tried to kill a woman during an argument.

An arrest affidavit for Danny Sullivan Cosby said Cosby was with a woman at her daughter's house Tuesday. During that visit, investigators said they got into an argument about another man.

According to the police report, Cosby told police he "snapped." Investigators said Cosby slashed the woman's throat and stabbed her in the torso.

Officers got to the home and took Cosby into custody. During questioning, his affidavit revealed he told officers "if he could not have the victim, nobody could."

Cosby reportedly told officers about the beige knife he used in the attack, and officers recovered it at the scene.

The woman was taken to the hospital to receive treatment.

Cosby was booked into the jail on a charge of attempted criminal homicide.

Investigators didn't state the exact relationship between Cosby and the victim, only reporting they are in a "domestic relationship."
