ALTAMONT, Tenn. - A Grundy County inmate who escaped during a worship service has been caught.
Authorities said they captured 43-year-old Kenneth Jason Franklin late Friday night in Marion County, about an hour south of Altamont.
Officials with the sheriff's office had been searching for Franklin since Wednesday night after they said he slipped out of worship service and escaped.
Authorities said Franklin asked to go to the bathroom and was allowed to leave the building unsupervised.
Franklin had been in Grundy County Jail since early April for several charges including reckless endangerment and assault with a vehicle.
Although he had no history of violence, anyone who spotted Franklin had been urged not to try and catch him.
Franklin was captured without incident.
No word yet on how he was captured since it was still under investigation.
