NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The man Metro Police believe to be responsible for a shooting on Meridian Street and East Trinity Lane on May 8 has been identified as 37-year-old Anthony Ussery.

According to a press release by Metro Police, two arrest warrants charging Ussery with attempted criminal homicide have been issued.

The victims - 30-year-old Eugene Covington and 25-year-old Ronnell Covington - were parked at Trinity United Methodist Church on the evening of May 8, when a black 2013 Lincoln MKZ pulled up near them. A man got out of the vehicle and opened fire. That man is alleged to be Ussery. The Convington brothers were struck in their legs in the shooting.

It was later learned that one of the victims was having a dispute with Ussery.

Ussery is last known to have lived on Rowan Court. Anyone who sees him or knows his location is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (615) 742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and also qualify for a cash reward.
