Posted

A manhunt for a gunman is underway west of Nashville after a man was injured in an early morning shooting.

The incident happened shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday, on 41st Avenue near Delaware Avenue.

Officials with Metro police said the shooting appeared to be the result of a dispute between a woman and her boyfriend.

The woman had been in the home with two men when the suspect walked up outside and began waving a weapon and causing a disruption.

At some point, the two men came out of a home and an altercation broke out, which police called "an all-out brawl."

One man was shot in the upper right thigh. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the suspect does have a history of domestic violence.

He fled the scene in a black Dodge Avenger with a busted rear window.

Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
