Police were called to a Joelton fast food restaurant after two would-be robbers tried to shoot out the drive-thru window.
The incident happened around midnight Tuesday as McDonald’s workers were closing down for the night.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said two men armed with long guns and wearing bandanas tried to enter the restaurant but couldn't get inside.
They then tried to rob the store by shooting out the drive-thru window but were again unsuccessful.
No one was hurt. Detectives found shell casing outside the building.
The two men left in a green hatchback with out of state tags on Eatons Creek Road. No specific suspect description was available.
