Governor Bill Haslam brought attention to disability employment while getting his first report from the Tennessee Employment First Task Force at the Grand Ole Opry.
He visited the Opry Thursday and took a backstage tour with worker Clancey Hopper.
Hopper is a tour guide at the Opry. She lives with Williams Syndrome and had always wanted the chance to work.
Clancey also gave the Governor this year's Disability Employment Report... which details how the state is faring when it comes to hiring people living with disabilites.
Haslam's heard the Task Force's annual report presentation. The report details the work done to carry out the governor's vision of increasing competitive, integrated employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The presentation coincided with National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
